Dick
has been seriously interested in photography for over thirty years
using both large format 4x5 and 35-mm cameras. His primary focus is
large format black and white fine art photography in the manner of
Ansel Adams and Henry Gilpin. Dick has taken several advanced photographic
workshops at the Maine Photographic Workshops and has recently completed
John Sexton's Fine Tuning the Expressive Black and White Print Workshop.
Karen's interest in photography
evolved gradually over several years. In the beginning she spent time with
Dick as he was experimenting with his camera. From there she moved on to
asking him to photograph scenes that interested her. When both of them began
to realize that he was not photographing exactly what she was seeing, she
acquired her own 35-mm camera.
Karen has taken advanced workshops at the Maine Photographic
Workshops. She completed courses with Brenda Tharp, The Art of Nature,
and Michael Yamashita, a National Geographic Photographer. These helped to
broaden her visual interpretation of her surroundings.
They reside in New Hampshire
where they are members of The New Hampshire Art Association, NHAA,

at the Currier Gallery of Art and the Josie F. Prescott Award given by Prescott
Park Arts Festival. Recently Dick received a merit award for his portfolio
from B&W Magazine
and had two images appear in a special August/September 2006 issue.

America, Dick has received seven New England Camera Club Council (NECCC) annual
